RMS – Ryerson Manor Springfield Corp is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit established in 2025 to address the long-term vacancy and deterioration of Ringwood Manor located at the northern end of Otsego Lake in the Glimmerglass Historical District of New York. RMS’s mission is to restore, preserve, and steward Ringwood Manor as a public-facing museum and cultural center that interprets the site’s layered history and supports education, research, and community engagement.
Restoration work is underway to address urgent structural needs — including foundation stabilization and roof replacement — while planning for long-term museum operations and public access. Every decision is guided by preservation best practices and a deep respect for the site’s layered history. The museum’s opening will be phased, allowing visitors to witness preservation in action and engage with the evolving story of Ringwood Manor.
We believe that history should be alive, accessible, and inclusive—something that welcomes every visitor to take part in its ongoing narrative.
